Ken's Story
"A third time Jesus said, 'Simon, son of John, do you love me?' Peter became sad because Jesus asked him the third time, 'Do you love me?' and so he said to him, 'Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you!' Jesus said, 'Take care of my sheep.' Then Jesus said to him, 'Follow me!"
(John: 21:17,19)

Rev. Mr. Kenneth F. Schneider
1943 - 1995
Ordained: 1989

AT THE WATER'S EDGE prayer evolved out of special prayer time I was able to spend with my brother-in-law (also an ordained deacon) who had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of Lymphatic cancer. Our Lord touched him in a very special way that day when we prayed. Deacon Ken went into remission later on that year. He was a survivor for over four and a half years, but after a series of events Ken went into shock and died on July 6, 1995.

This way of praying and meeting the Lord Jesus "At The Water's Edge" and letting Him lead us in prayer has brought Jesus' healing touch to thousands of people since that day I prayed with Ken.

Each of us has a story to tell.
We need only to take the time to discover who Jesus is for us TODAY.

At the Water's Edge is a beautiful prayer that introduces the person Jesus to a community of believers.

To introduce the person Jesus in a personal way to those who may be skeptical or curious about this form of prayer. "Can this really happen? Is Jesus really present to me in this prayer, or is it just my imagination?"

Jesus uses our imaginations. Yes, even though people visualize him in different ways, and even though they may become distracted during these sessions...it's alright. We know that Jesus uses distractions to help us concentrate on him even more. To search him out...to seek his face.

During this prayer people are touched deeply, many to tears of sadness and joy. There is healing and a transformation that takes place from the very moment this prayer begins. Each person is affected in the way our Lord chooses to 'move on' him or her at the time of the prayer. After all, it was Jesus who invited you to come to the "Water's Edge".
