This lithograph is very educational! Not only for students, but everyone can learn about history and heritage of the Catholic Church from this original edition of The Popes! Every lithograph is numbered - certified. We, at "ARTS" are the sole owner and source for this beautiful artistic and historic rendering, and since the production stopped, it is today considered a "COLLECTORS ITEM", A MEMENTO and a RELIC, a keepsake at a very fair and affordable price.

During the mid 1970's an American artist and printer, Mr. John Carver, took his wife to Europe as an anniversary trip, a gift. Amidst sightseeing in Rome, while viewing the majestic artistic renderings, the pictures, paintings and statues of all the past, an inspiration grasped Mr. Carver, to make a historic summary, all things captivated him. Blessed with a private audience with the pope, (that time Paul VI), he volunteered a mission to compile all information and photographs while in Rome and use his talent and knowledge to originate a Papal lithograph depicting the history of the Papacy, the Church. The pope liked his plan and gave him permission to collect the data but also blessed his work and commanded him to serve the Lord and his Church this way. Upon completion of his research Mr. Carver granted a second audience, the pope and the cardinals celebrated him and his project The Popes lithograph, which is the only complete Papal historic memento ever!

The artist - printer spent years designing, drawing, painting, working on the giant picture. When he completed the work, the pope died. Decision was made to put the new pope's picture in the center of the litho and finalize the project, copyrighted in 1979 and produced and marketed. After the artist died, his widow sold the print shop and she donated the last amount of copies of this historic litho to the Order of St. Francis. There are only 160 lithos presently for a modest sale, I urge you dear Friend to capture this true, Traditional Catholic Heritage while you can! (c)1979
